Things to do inLiskeard

Visitor information for Liskeard in Cornwall

The ancient stannary and market town of Liskeard sits in the heart of South East Cornwall, some 14 miles west of the Tamar River.

Browse amongst the narrow streets in the traffic-free town centre and discover the many independent shops, many still retaining their Victorian shop fronts and interiors. Then stop for refreshments in one of the local pubs, cafes or restaurants.

A series of interesting murals can be found around the town, one depicting the arrival of the railway and the impact the industrial revolution had on Liskeard.

The Liskeard & District Museum can be found in Pike Street: displays relate to the resurgence of the town during the 19th Century copper boom. The museum is an interpretation point for the Caradon mining district which is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining World Heritage Site.
