Village Pubs in Cornwall

21 April 2017

To really get a feel for Cornwall life then head out and about to find that quintessential Cornish village pub!  Although many of our villages may have lost their post office or local shop they have managed to retain the all important village inn, where you get a real sense of history and can imagine the generations of local people who would have enjoyed the hospitality in days gone by.

That sense of timelessness still pervades, although these days the ‘local’ offers so much more than just a pint and a packet of crisps! A good selection of ales is, of course, a priority; but it’s the quality and variety of food on the menu that makes a good pub something special.

Pub food is often served throughout the day and evening, which gives visitors to Cornwall the freedom to explore the area and eat when it suits them.  Families are well catered for with special children’s menus and perhaps a play area; relax under a parasol in a beer garden while enjoying a cool drink. And look out for the local produce that many landlords take pride in using, it really does make a difference when it’s only travelled a few miles to get to the table.

Use our Cornwall village pubs trail to find that out-of-the-way pub that the locals enjoy throughout the year, you’ll not only enjoy the warm hospitality but on your way you’ll also discover some of Cornwall’s finest coast and country views.
